Modules

  • Processes looks at various aspects of processes, including attributes, states, life cycle, and creation. It also covers sending signals to processes, changing their priority, and monitoring processes.
  • Virtual Memory covers memory statistics, virtual memory swapping areas, and using the /proc filesystem.
  • System Logging covers the purpose of system logging, how to configure and manage the logger configuration file, and how to use logrotate to manage configuration files.
  • cron and at explains the major components of the cron and at/batch subsystems. It also describes how to use the crontab format.
