NOTE:  This course is specifically for customers who are using the SuSE Linux Enterprise Server (SLES) based Altix UV Environment . The class is based on the SLES11 with the additional SGI Performance Suite software.

  • Configure Boot Information
  • Startup and shut down the SGI Altix UV system
  • Partition and build a system disk
  • Build multipartition (concat, stripe, mirror) filesystems with SGI XVM
  • Setup and use Performance Co-Pilot (PCP)
  • Install SGI specific kernel modules
  • Install the Intel compiler environment modules
  • Configure array services for SGI MPT applications
  • Use taskset, dplace and cpusets to pin an application
  • Use the Linux crash command to extract basic dump information
  • Use the Linux kexec/kdump Kernel Dump feature
